We had a great weekend of flying at our biggest event of the year, the Aldeburgh Carnival 2024. So proud to have been asked back again to support their 80th Carnival. The weather forecast was for a sunny two days but we were a little dubious about the wind. Luckily for us on the Saturday during the day we had a constant 10-12mph onshore easterly wind which meant we could fill the skies with a wealth of different creatures and kites much to the delight of the general public who made some lovely compliments about our display.
Unfortunately that lovely wind died with the setting of the sun and we struggled with our night fly as the wind became very light. But with a bit of towing and running we managed to get some of the illuminated kites in the sky which met with several rounds of applause from the assembled crowd who appreciated our efforts.
Sunday was again a sunny day but our wind luck wasn’t with us as the wind had switched to a light variable westerly and with being in the lee of some tall buildings and trees we struggled to maintain kites in the sky for most of the day which was quite frustrating for all concerned.
