The Coleman shelter was soon up with the help of Colin and the flyers started to arrive. Martin’s daughters joined us and by mid morning 8 flyers from the Kent Kite Flyers had made the long journey from Kent to be with us. Sadly the sun shone all day but the wind was very light so it was just the very light wind kites that made it to the sky. The Kent flyers had Mike from Kiteworld’s flowtails but sadly not enough wind for them to get airbourne. Lyn kept us supplied with tea /coffee and nibbles and I counted 26 in attendance. We all had a great day remembering Martin and we have decided to make this an annual event to remember our great friend. — Pete

Myself and Lyn arrived at Frinton just after 9 o’clock, Rob Brixton was already there trying to get his big lifters up with little success, sadly this was going to be the theme for the day.
